The Fifth Element: Essence of Spirit” is an interdisciplinary project blending art, science, and culture to celebrate the unity of the five elements, emphasizing Spirit through natural materials, sensory engagement, and ecological awareness.

NATURAL PIGMENTS AND ELECTRONIC ARTS
NOV 12TH 2024 | 10 AM – 12 PM

In this workshop, participants create DIY (Do It Yourself) electronic devices powered by currents from pigment materials, whose varying states shape pitch, tone, and volume for spontaneous musical composition, blending sound with natural colours

Join artists-in-residence Irene and Haryo from HONF (House of Natural Fiber) in a workshop celebrating cultural heritage, ecological awareness, and creativity. Participants will build DIY electronic devices powered by electrical currents from pigment materials, where shifting states of these materials influence the pitch, tone, and volume, resulting in a dynamic, improvised musical composition infused with natural colours.

This installation embraces aleatory music, allowing chance and spontaneity to shape both the auditory and visual experience.

Irene and Haryo will also share insights into electronic arts, showing how to enhance artwork by combining natural materials with technology.
