Opening night Thursday 12 March, 6pm at Arts SPACE (80 Federal St Narrogin)
12 paintings and 2 paper quilts are samples of a variety of works and styles completed over 40 years.
Expressive colour and an imaginative, sometimes emotional, response to the environment burst out or loom suggestively from the canvases – at times surprising the painter with unexpected images.
Joyce has an Advanced Certificate in Art and Design (Midland TAFE) and a Masters in Art Therapy (Edith Cowan Uni) and is currently employed as a Counsellor sometimes offering Art Therapy as a means to creatively work through life’s issues. This has also influenced her own work in loosening her style and expectations, enjoying the creative process rather than worrying about the result.
The results presented in this exhibition offer a feast of both colour and subjects for the senses that will hopefully inspire viewers to enjoy, critique and work creatively themselves.
