Artist Statement:
This exhibition features salt lakes I have seen in the Central Wheatbelt region and Rottnest Island over a 20 year period. The first work (paint + paper) features Hyden Lake in flood viewed from a granite outcrop – the latest is a mixed media work using handkerchiefs that represent many different lakes across the region with a lot of artistic licence to include check and lots of lace! My aim is to present salt lakes in many artistic & interesting ways while also showing a concern for our beautiful country that is rapidly changing into salt stricken landscapes devoid of vegetation.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 4 – 24 April 2024.
Gallery Hours: 10am – 4pm Tuesday – Thursday
