Pitch n Plate #02

July 15 @ 6:00 pm 8:30 pm

Narrogin Reception Centre (Town Hall Complex, 82 Federal St Narrogin)

Arts Narrogin revives community spirit with a bowl of soup

The first crowdfunding event hosted by Arts Narrogin was held at the end of January with the promise of a follow up get-together later in the year.

Happily, the second “Pitch ‘n’ Plate” has now been scheduled for Wednesday, 15 July and will be held in the Reception Centre at the Narrogin Town Hall.

Those attending the evening will pay $20 for their ticket and enjoy a supper of soup and artisan bread. They will hear three or four community members pitch their ideas for a project to enhance life in Narrogin.

Each $20 ticket will be converted to tokens which can be used to support the pitch or pitches that you judge to have the most value.

As part of the evening’s entertainment, the successful pitchers from the January event will return to talk about the progress of their projects and to answer questions that people might have.

Drinks will be available to purchase from the bar and there will be time to socialize.

Arts Narrogin is now calling on community members and organisations to come forward with their ideas to enliven the town. Applications can be made at www.artsnarrogin.com.au/event/pitch-n-plate

Tickets for the event will be limited to meet regulations current at the time and the first release are now on sale via the Arts Narrogin website or in person at Arts SPACE Tuesday-Thursday.

A massive thank you to everyone who took part in our second edition of Pitch n Plate!

The event wouldn’t have been anywhere near as spectacular without our fabulous live audience, hardworking volunteers, and passionate pitchers.

We had three exciting new projects pitched to a sold-out audience of 88, plus we tried our first ever livestream with the help of the crew from Euphorium!

We also heard from January’s pitches who reported back on how their projects have been progressing through the challenges of 2020.

  • Thornton Theatre Landscaping Project
  • Core for Community
  • Moorditj Youth
  • Unsung Heroes

Altogether our community raised the following amounts to kickstart each of the new pitches:

  • St John Ambulance Kerb Appeal: $2356.75
  • Narrogin Have You Got Talent: $679.20
  • Energising the Community Garden: $994.70 (plus a generator and a note that says “Call me”)

This funding came from a combination of ticket sales and extra donations on the night, topped up with $1000 (split across the 3 projects based percentages) from Arts Narrogin’s gift fund, which is also made up of donations from the community.
