Curtain Up in Williams: A Blockbuster Month of Theatre at the Memorial Hall
WILLIAMS, WA – The small town of Williams is stepping into the spotlight with a dynamic month of theatre as the Williams Memorial Hall transforms into a regional hub for high-quality live performance. Local talent, national tours, and Broadway stars will share the stage in a packed program presented by the Williams Repertory Club and Arts Narrogin.
Kicking off the season is the Williams Repertory Club’s riotous new production of Noises Off, Michael Frayn’s beloved backstage comedy. Known as “the funniest farce ever written,” this fast-paced, high-energy play offers a hilarious glimpse behind the curtain as a cast of misfit actors fumbles its way through an increasingly chaotic production. Following that, Arts Narrogin brings two extraordinary touring shows to Williams as part of its commitment to enriching regional arts access.
First up is An Evening with Lucy Durack, Wednesday 10 September 2025. The star of Wicked and Legally Blonde the Musical brings her signature charm and powerhouse vocals for one night only in Williams. In a show that promises Broadway magic and heartfelt storytelling, this is a rare opportunity to see one of Australia’s leading stage performers right in the heart of the Wheatbelt. Even better, bar proceeds from the evening will go directly to support the Williams Repertory Club.
Then, Tuesday 23 September 2025, audiences will have a chance to experience Monument, written by Max Afford Playwrights Award Finalist Emily Sheehan.This powerful two-hander unpacks the experience of women in leadership with wit, grit, and nuance. Set in the final moments before a historic press appearance, the story follows Edith Aldridge, the youngest woman ever elected leader of her country, as she’s prepared for the cameras by Rosie, a young make-up artist. Beneath the surface of fashion and cosmetics lies a razor-sharp conversation about image, power, and the expectations placed on women in the public eye.
